The Teaching profession is one of the most respected jobs in society. Good wages and Professional satisfaction in the job attract young people to join this sector. Those who want to take up Teaching as their Occupation can take steps towards their goal right after their Intermediate education itself. The most important quality for a Teacher is a Good communication with his/ her students. He/ she should encourage students to think and analyze. It is he/ she who helps to play a part in building their Career. So, they must be Patient, Cool, Calm while dealing with Students.

In order to take the Teaching profession after Intermediate education, one has to join a two- year D.Ed (Diploma in Education) course and has to join B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) course to complete Graduation. It usually takes 5 years to complete these two degrees. But as per the New Education Policy (NEP), the Government has introduced a four- year Integrated B.Ed course for the students to complete these degrees and save a year for them. By completing this course, students will get B.A and B.Ed degree (or) B.Sc and B.Ed degree (or) B.Com and B.Sc degrees together.

Nationally renowned Institutions are also providing these courses. Students can improve Interpersonal skills and Teaching skills much better by taking an Integrated B.Ed course in these Institutions because they are given specialized training in Teaching from the First semester onwards. Those who complete the course will get jobs in Nationally renowned Corporate Educational Institutions through On- campus placements.

State- wise RIEs:

❖ Regional Educational Training Institutes (RIEs) have been set up across the country with the aim of providing the best Teachers to the society. B.Ed can be completed within 4 years along with a Degree in these Institutes with Inter qualification. You can also take the Integrated M.Sc.Ed (M.Sc + B.Ed) course for a period of 6 years. Those who want to enter the Teaching profession may give first priority to joining RIEs. This approach of the students will improve their skill in Methodology. Reading for 4 years in a row gives you a complete grasp of the subject. Classes will be conducted in the Semester approach. There is total 8 semesters, 2 per year. The Final year will have to be spent in Schools.

❖ There are RIEs in Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore. Each organization is divided by state. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana fall under RIE Mysore. The states of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep are also covered. The seats are divided into States and Union territories.

❖ Mysore RIE has 40 seats in each of the B.Sc B.Ed (Physical Science), B.Sc B.Ed (Biological Science), B.A B.Ed sections. In addition, there are 15 seats in each subject in Maths, Physics and Chemistry in M.Sc M.Ed. Anyone across the country can compete for the M.Sc M.Ed. No separate state quota will be applied. Also, it is not possible to leave within 6 years. Those who have completed the M.Sc M.Ed course can pursue a Ph.D in Mysore.

Educational Qualifications:

❖ Inter MPC / BiPC students are eligible to join the B.Sc B.Ed course. Only Inter MPC students are eligible for the M.Sc. Ed course. Anyone who has studied Inter with any stream of Science/ Arts/ Commerce is eligible for B.A B.Ed course. Atleast 50% marks in Inter are mandatory for any course. (45% for SC, ST, and Divyangs).

Selection Procedure:

❖ The exam consists of a total of 80 questions on Language Skills, Teaching Aptitude, Reasoning and Ability. These include English Language 20, Teaching Aptitude 30, and Reasoning Ability 30 questions. The Question paper will be in English and Hindi mediums. The Question paper will be for 160 marks at the rate of 2 marks for each question. Each incorrect answer will be deducted at the rate of half a mark. The test duration is 2 hours. The weightage of marks is 60% for Written test and 40% for Intermediate marks.

❖ B.Ed in RIE, Mysore with a duration of two years. Also in Bhopal there is an integrated B.Ed + M.Ed course with a duration of three years. Anyone across the country can apply.

❖ Scholarships are available to all SCs and STs who have joined RIE. Also, half of the remaining candidates will be awarded scholarships on the basis of their parents' annual income. Campus appointments take place annually. Those who complete B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.Ed courses will get a minimum salary of over Rs. 25,000 per month. Those with M.Sc.Ed and M.Ed courses get a minimum salary of Rs. 35,000.

❖ Scholarships are available to all SCs and STs who have joined RIE. Also, half of the remaining candidates will be awarded scholarships on the basis of their parents' annual income.

Also in Central Universities...

❖ The Integrated B.A B.Ed course is offered by Central Universities, Jammu and South Bihar. Integrated B.Sc B.Ed (Maths) Central University is offered by Tamil Nadu and South Bihar Central Universities. Admissions are available with CUCET. The announcement came out. Taken into the course with the talent shown in the exam.

Azim Premji University:

❖ Azim Premji University is offering B.Sc B.Ed Dual Degree Course in Residential Policy for a duration of 4 Years. The course is offered in all three disciplines of Biological Science, Physical Science, and Mathematics. Students should pass Intermediate MPC, BiPC with atleast 50% marks. Scholarships are also given.

❖ Candidates are selected through Written test and Interviews. There are 18 questions in English and 18 questions in Quantitative Reasoning. The test duration is 2 hours. All Questions are objective with 2 marks for each question. There are negative marks. Each wrong answer will be deducted one mark. There is another Written test in Essay / Data Analysis / Problem Solving. The test duration is 1 hour.

❖ The test will be conducted in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam in Telugu states. BA, B.Sc, MA, LLM courses are available here. The company is popular for on- campus appointments.

Gandhigram Rural Institute:

❖ Gandhigram Rural Institute, Gandhigram (Dindigul) is a Deemed University established under the Central Ministry of Human Resources, Tamil Nadu. The Institute offers B.Sc B.Ed course for Intermediate MPC students who passed with atleast 50% marks. Seats will be filled with Marks/ Grades obtained in Intermediate.
