Types of Artificial Intelligence:

Artificial Intelligence is of two types. Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

ANI can only do one thing. An example will help better in explaining ANI. A chess software can only play that game, no matter how well it plays. It can even beat a chess world champion. It doesn't know anything other than playing a chess game.

AGI can do many things just as a man can do. A classic example to explain AGI is the role of 'Chitti - The Robo', in the movie 'Robo', directed by S. Shankar featuring Rajinikanth. Chitti works on Artificial General Intelligence. But over the last 10- 15 years, all the progress in AI has been to Artificial Narrow Intelligence. Only a very small percentage went towards Artificial General Intelligence.

What students should do?

As Artificial Intelligence provides huge Job opportunities, it is very necessary for students to hone their skills to suit the needs of the industry. If you want to learn Artificial Intelligence practically and do applications and projects, you have to learn the basics of high school Math and Programming. But it all depends on the resources we use to learn Technology. You can learn AI on YouTube, Udemy, Coursera, etc,. 4.0 technology companies such as iB Hubs and Nxtwave Disruptive Technologies are giving training in Artificial Intelligence to students through CCBP programs.

Research: 3- 5 years

✦ Ph.D program in Artificial Intelligence

Eligibility Criteria & Admission:

✦ For Diploma Course, Student should have done 10+ 2 or equivalent examination with minimum of 60% aggregate.

✦ For Advanced Diploma course, should have done B.Tech/ B.E/ BCA.

✦ For Post- graduation Diploma course, student should have done Graduation in Engineering/ MCA/ M.Sc with Maths are Physics are eligible.

✦ For Bachelor's Degree, Student should have done 10+ 2 or Intermediate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry with minimum of 50% aggregate marks from any recognized board.

✦ For Master's degree, Student should have done bachelor's degree in relevant stream or M.Sc/ MCA are eligible to do. Candidate must qualify GATE or institution level entrance examination for admission.

✦ For Ph.D, Student should have done postgraduation course in relevant discipline with minimum of 50% aggregate. Candidate should qualify GATE Entrance Examination and Personal Interview conducted by the institution.
