Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, is a premier institute for multi-disciplinary research supporting India's nuclear energy programme. The centre is inviting applications for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) to empower young students to contribute to frontier scientific research and cutting-edge technologies. Selected candidates will register for a Ph.D. at the Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI).

Junior Research Fellowship (Physical, Chemical, and Life Sciences)
Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian nationals with a consistently good academic record, including at least 60% aggregate in B.Sc. and 55% aggregate in M.Sc. (or 75% for 4-year bachelor's degrees). Additionally, applicants must have cleared a national level examination such as UGC-CSIR-NET (Fellowship), JEST, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF, DBT-JRB, GATE (Physics/Chemistry/Life Sciences/Biotechnology), or JGEEBILS. Specific subject requirements apply, such as Mathematics at the B.Sc. level for Physics applicants.
Stipend: Per month Rs.37,000 for the first two years; Rs. 42,000 from the third year onwards.
Upper Age Limit: 28 years of age as of 01.08.2026.
