Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has announced the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan (PM-USP) Yojana under the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (PM-USP CSSS). This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students from economically weaker sections to support their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher education.

Undergraduate Scholarship: Rs.12,000 per annum for the first 3 years.
Postgraduate Scholarship: Rs.20,000 per annum.
Integrated/Professional Courses: Rs.20,000 per annum for 4th and 5th years.
Eligibility:
Students who have scored above the 80th percentile in their respective State Education Board or equivalent Class XII examinations are eligible. They must be enrolled in regular degree courses (not distance mode) in recognized institutions, and not availing benefits of other scholarships or fee waiver schemes. Annual parental income must not exceed Rs.4.5 lakh. Students must also meet renewal conditions like a minimum 50% score annually and 75% attendance.
Age: Typically covers students in the 18 to 25 years age group, based on the age profile of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

How to Apply:
Eligible students must apply online through the National Scholarships Portal (NSP) at www.scholarships.gov.in. Students should register, fill out the application, upload required documents, and submit the form. The applications will be verified by the educational institution and State Nodal Agency before approval.
