Indian Navy SSC Officer Positions
The Indian Navy has released a notification inviting applications from unmarried eligible men and women for the grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Information Technology (Executive Branch). Selected candidates will undergo a Special Naval Orientation Course at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala, starting in January 2027.

Total Number of Vacancies: 15 (Provisional)
Eligibility: Candidates must have at least 60% marks in English in Class X or XII. Additionally, they must hold one of the following qualifications with a minimum of 60% overall marks: M.Sc / B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Software Systems, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, or Artificial Intelligence. MCA with BCA/B.Sc (Computer Science/IT). Candidates in their final year of graduation or post-graduation are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the 60% aggregate requirement.
Age: Candidates must be born between 01 January 2002 and 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).
Starting Salary: Rs. 56,100 per month, plus other allowances.
Selection Process: Selection will be based on shortlisting, interview, document verification, medical examination, and merit list.

Key Points to Note:
NCC Relaxation: NCC ‘C’ certificate holders (Naval/Army/Air Wing) with a minimum ‘B’ grade receive a 5% relaxation in cut-off marks for SSB shortlisting.
Service Term: Initially for 10 years, extendable by a maximum of 4 years (2+2), subject to performance and requirements.
Probation: The probation period is two years from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lieutenant.
Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marrying during training will result in discharge and refund of all pay/expenditure
