Ekalavya Model Residential Schools - 6th class Admissions
Number of Seats:
Total Sanctioned Seats: 1,680 seats across 28 institutions. Per
School Intake: 60 students per school (30 Boys and 30 Girls).
Section Strength: 30 students per section (2 sections per school).
Eligibility: Candidates must have qualified Class V from a government, government-aided, or recognized school. Children who studied at home are also eligible under the RTE Act, provided a self-declaration is submitted. Additionally, the annual parental income should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-, though white ration card holders are exempt from producing an income certificate.
Age Limit:
As of March 31, 2026, candidates must be between 10 and 13 years old. A relaxation of two years in the maximum age limit is permitted for differently-abled children on a case-by-case basis.
Selection Procedure:
The entrance test (EMRSST) evaluates students on competencies aligned with the Class V level across three main areas:
Mental Ability Test: 50 Questions (50 Marks).
Arithmetic Test: 25 Questions (25 Marks).
Language Test (English/Hindi/Regional): 25 Questions (25 Marks).
