India and Zimbabwe on 4 June 2026 agreed to deepen bilateral defence cooperation by expanding collaboration in training, support and maintenance of common air assets, while exploring new areas such as joint manufacturing, counter-terrorism, border management and peacekeeping.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman was elected the president of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. In a secret-ballot election, Rahman received 99 out of 190 votes, against 91 for Andreas S. Kakouris, special envoy of Cypruss foreign minister for multilateralism.
