The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC-NET December 2023 for ‘Junior Research Fellowship’ and eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ in 83 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Subjects: Adult Education, Anthropology, Arab Culture and Islamic Studies, Arabic, Archaeology, Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Buddhist, Jaina, Gandhian and Peace Studies, Chinese, Commerce, Comparative Literature,Comparative Study of Religions, Computer Science and Applications, Criminology etc
Eligibility: 55% marks in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions.
Age Limit: JRF- Not more than 30 years as on 01.12.2023. Assistant Professor- There is no upper age limit.
Mode of Examination: The Examination shall be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions.
Application Fee: General/ Unreserved- Rs.1150; General-EWS/ OBC-NCL- Rs.600; SC/ ST/ PwD, Third gender- Rs.325
Starting date for submission of online application: 30-09-2023.
Last date for submission of online application: 28-10-2023.
Last date for submission of Examination fee: 29-10-2023.
Correction in the Particulars in Online Application: 30-31, October 2023.
Dates of Examination: 06 to 22 December 2023.
Declaration of Result: 10-01-2024.
