Goods and Services Tax

The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue rose 14.8 percent year-on-year to Rs.1,99,853 crore in August 2026. Net GST revenue for the month, after refunds, increased 8.3 percent year-on-year to Rs.1,68,057 crore from Rs.1,55,181 crore a year ago. Gross revenue from domestic transactions grew 9.3 percent to Rs.1,37,249 crore in August 2026, compared with Rs.1,25,570 crore in the same month last year.

• Revenue from imports saw a sharper increase, rising 29 percent to Rs.62,604 crore from Rs.48,546 crore a year earlier.

• The Central GST collection stood at Rs.38,413 crore, while State GST collections were Rs.46,316 crore, while integrated GST collections from domestic transactions stood at Rs.52,520 crore.
