Paryatan Mitra and Paryatan Didi
♦ The Ministry of Tourism launched a nationwide initiative called ‘Paryatan Mitra’ and ‘Paryatan Didi’ to promote responsible tourism across India on World Tourism Day (September 27). The initiative, which was piloted in six key tourist destinations - Orchha (Madhya Pradesh), Gandikota (Andhra Pradesh), Bodh Gaya (Bihar), Aizawl (Mizoram), Jodhpur (Rajasthan), and Sri Vijaya Puram (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) focuses on enhancing the tourist experience.
♦ Through ‘Paryatan Mitra’ and ‘Paryatan Didi’, the Ministry aims to connect tourists with locals who act as proud Ambassadors and Storytellers of their regions.
