♦ Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju launched the Haj Suvidha App 2.0 in New Delhi on 23 November 2024.
♦ It featuring key updates such as air travel details, Mina navigation maps, and health advisories for Indian pilgrims.
♦ Kiren Rijiju launched the app during the Conference of Chairpersons of State and UT Haj Committees.
♦ Rijiju highlighted the Haj pilgrimage as India’s largest annual logistical operation abroad and emphasized reforms to enhance the experience, including the removal of discretionary quotas and support for women pilgrims traveling without Mehram.
♦ The app introduces advanced features like boarding pass details, improved navigation, and health records, building on the success of its predecessor launched in 2024.
♦ Additional reforms include procuring modern accommodations near Haram and deploying upgraded buses for pilgrim travel between Makkah, Madinah, and other regions.
